Dear Parents,

Little Prince’s mission is to provide quality care and education by supporting the social-emotional development of each child. We strive to build a relationship of cordiality, trust, and credibility with parents as partners in the education of their children.

We are pleased to introduce the “Pyramid Model,” a framework used in early childhood education to promote social and emotional development in young children. Through this approach, we aim to support children with emotional and behavioral needs. This model emphasizes positive relationships, supportive environments, and individualized interventions to help children develop positively within their social setting.

Welcome to EARLy head start

What is Early Head Start (EHS)?

Early Head Start (EHS) programs support pregnant women and infants and toddlers under the age of 3. Through comprehensive child development and family support, it enables parents to fulfill their roles as caretakers and to move toward self-sufficiency.

Services encompass the full range of a family’s needs. Our goal is to promote the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of infants and toddlers through safe and developmentally enriching caregiving. This prepares children for continued growth and development and eventual success in school and life.

Early Head Start programs also mobilize the local community to provide the resources and environment necessary to ensure extensive, integrated array of services and support for children and families.

Included Services

Beyond free full-day childcare, the comprehensive EHS services include:

  • Conducting ongoing screenings and assessments to ensure each child is making progress
  • Supporting the full inclusion of children with disabilities and building on their strengths
  • Engaging families in their child’s learning and recognizing parents as a child’s first and most influential teacher
  • Engaging parents as their child’s lifelong advocate
  • Ensuring children receive medical, dental, hearing, vision, and behavioral screening
  • Assisting with mental health services for children and families, as needed
  • Providing parenting support and strategies
  • Celebrating the role of fathers and male caregivers through father engagement

Welcome to preschool for all expansion(pfae)

What is Preschool for All?

The focus of the Preschool for All (PFA) and Preschool for All Expansion (PFAE) programs is to prepare young children for kindergarten readiness and future school success. Serving children at risk of academic failure, our program specialists develop connections with families, empowering them to be active participants in their child’s educational experience.

Certification for PFAE

All Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Preschool for All (PFA), and Preschool for All Expansion (PFAE) programs participate in ExceleRate Illinois. A state approved assessor conducts on-site classroom assessments and monitoring using the ECERS-3/CLASS and the PFA/PFAE Compliance Checklist prescribed by ISBE in accordance with the ISBE monitoring schedule. Assignment of an ExceleRate Circle of Quality occurs by designated ISBE staff for school-based sites.
